We're thrilled to announce the unveiling of our Virginia LOVEwork! Part of the state’s mission to prove that “love is at the heart of every Virginia vacation,” these original works of art are located throughout the Commonwealth. Airlie is proud to be the home of the first LOVEwork in Warrenton.
About Our LOVEwork
Created from 95% recycled materials, Airlie's LOVEwork is representative of our commitment to sustainable initiatives. Since 1961, Airlie has been a pioneer among environmentally friendly ("green") hotel and conference center practices in the United States. Click here to learn more about our green initiatives and practices.
Items used to create our LOVEwork include recycled wine bottles, Trex composite decking (created from soda bottles and grocery bags), reclaimed scrap yard steel, a tractor tire from the Fauquier County landfill, even live plants and vines, which truly bring our sculpture to life. In the evening, it is illuminated by LED solar panel lighting.
Thank you to our generous project sponsors, who helped make our LOVEwork possible: Triple R Welding, Lowe's, and Trex.

|Trex and scrap yard steel combine to create the E. Couples married at Airlie will receive a lock to affix to the "E" to symbolize their union. While we refrain from discarding keys into the lake, there is a special box resting in the tractor tire where couples will "throw away" their key.|
Plan Your Visit
We welcome the greater Warrenton community, Airlie guests and daytrippers to visit our LOVEwork. Upon entering Airlie grounds, please follow the signs to Guest Parking. Once parked, walk the main road past Airlie House. When you arrive at the fork, turn right and proceed past the Spanish staircase up the hill. The LOVEwork sits atop Lake Stanley hill.
Please be respectful of groups visiting the LOVEwork ahead of your party. Airlie grounds can be busy with weddings April - October, and the LOVEwork is a prime photo location. Should there be a large group ahead of you upon arrival, we invite you to visit our formal gardens, butterfly garden, or enjoy a walk around the lake while you wait.
Couples are welcome to bring their own lock, or purchase one from the Front Desk to attach to the LOVEwork. Be sure to use permanent marker when inscribing your names and date on the lock.
Share your love lock stories and LOVEwork photos with us! Tag #LOVEairlie on social media, and you may be featured on our social media profiles.
We look forward to your visit!
